March Newsletter
With extreme gratitude, I am elated to report that our February membership drive succeeded immensely. Not only did we reach our $2,500 goal, raising about $2,648, our generous matching donor pushed the total amount raised well above $5,000. Thank you to all new and returning donors. Your incredible support will help us present bigger and more frequent events in Loudoun County. None of this could have been possible without dedicated volunteers Claudia Williams and Kate Sammons, and our host Kathy Farmer.
You can still reserve your tickets for the first ever "Swing Dance with Swing Shift" at the historic Douglass Community Center on Saturday, March 21st. DanceKing Studios's April King will provide a beginner swing dance lesson at 6:30pm, followed by open dancing to a live big band from 7:30—9:30pm. Experienced and novice dancers, wallflowers, and listeners are all welcome. There will be seats for those who choose not to dance, and soft drinks and snacks will be available for sale.
Don't forget about Tracy Hamlin's Sweet Jazz Festival coming up in April featuring international star Will Downing, Tracy herself, and other great acts.
If you enjoy meeting new people and building relationships, consider donating just a few hours a month as Membership Coordinator. Useful skills might include personal networking, data management, or communication strategy. Send us an email if you have interest or questions about the role.
