February Newsletter

Eight years ago, musicians, teachers, and jazz fans gathered together to discuss what could be done to foster the jazz scene in Loudoun County. What a great ride it has been! In honor of our eighth anniversary, the Loudoun Jazz Society is hosting a membership drive this month. I hope you will excuse the extra emails. We have had tremendous response and, with your help, could meet our goals. Your support will take us to the next level of presenting great jazz musicians in our county.

If you have not already, reserve your tickets now for the first ever Swing Dance with Swing Shift at the historic Douglass Community Center in March. Here is your rare chance to dance to live big band music. Experience the music of the swing era in an authentic setting. See the flyer below for more details.

Also, scroll down to see more great events coming up such as Tracy Hamlin's Sweet Jazz Festival, the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble's concert at Park View High School, and the Branch Jazz Jam. The LJS has more concerts and workshops planned for 2026. Look out for the newsletter next month to find out more. As always, thank you for your support of the musicians, business owners, and educators who carry on this music.

Regards,
John Kocur
President, Loudoun Jazz Society
