New Orleans clarinetist and vocalist Doreen Ketchens shares the stage with Loudoun Symphonic Winds, performing traditional and hot jazz classics. Known as “Lady Louie,” “Queen Clarinet”, and “Miss Satchmo,” Ketchens has performed for four U.S. presidents — Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter. Her commitment and passion for the music marks her as a cultural ambassador of New Orleans traditional music.
Loudoun Symphonic Winds is a community-based concert band that is one of the major ensembles under Loudoun Community Band, Inc. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, comprised of professional and dedicated amateur musicians. Our goal is to give the Loudoun community and its neighbors an opportunity to play and hear the best of yesterday's and today's concert band music. As a member of the Association of Concert Bands, we have provided performance opportunities for Loudoun County residents as well as nearby communities for more than 30 years.
