June Newsletter
I promised an update on the Battle of the Big Bands last month and here it is. The next Battle of the Big Bands will take place on Saturday, October 11th at CraftWorx Taproom. Although CraftWorx is just south of Loudoun County, the venue boasts a large stage, ample seating, and plenty of food and beer for a memorable evening. In addition to Swing Shift, Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, and Franklin Park Big Band, you will also hear the JazzWorx Big Band at our biggest event yet. If you would like to get a preview of that night, join me at CraftWorx on Monday, June 16th as I solo with the band and spread the word about Loudoun Jazz Society.
The scholarship committee has selected the winners of the LJS Senior Scholarship and new Jazz Camp Scholarships. Meet the winners and help us congratulate them at the next Loudoun Jazz Jam on Sunday, June 15th. We have doubled our scholarship giving this year with the generous support of the Al Webber Jazz Fund. Special thanks to all who contributed to the scholarship drive.
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this newsletter to see all the jazz events happening this month. As the weather warms up, let's get out and support live music in our community.
