April Newsletter
Happy Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM)! The Smithsonian Institute initiated JAM in 2001 "to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz for the entire month of April." There are many ways you can do that in Loudoun County this month.
Tracy Hamlin presents her Sweet Jazz Festival this coming Friday and Saturday at the Dulles Marriott. Hear local favorites Caleb Nei and Eric Byrd, in addition to nationally renowned acts such as Eric Essex and Oli Silk (not to mention the wonderful Tracy Hamlin herself).
You can also hear the world-renowned Frank Vignola at the Franklin Park Arts Center. It isn't often that NYC jazz artists take a break from playing at Birdland to perform in Purcellville.
Please note, the Loudoun Jazz Jam at The Dell will be pushed back a week to the FOURTH Sunday this month (to avoid the Easter holiday). Join us for another great jam.
Lastly, you can still donate to our LJS Scholarship Fund or apply for the scholarship through the link below. We have expanded award offerings in the works, so stay tuned for more information.
