This Labor Day weekend, we are excited to partner with the D.C. Federation of Musicians to present a free concert to the Leesburg community. The Musician's Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) is one of the charitable arms of the Musician's Union. According to their website, "MPTF is the world’s largest sponsor of live, admission-free musical programs. Last year, MPTF presented over 1,600 performances to the people of the United States and Canada. Millions of people in major U.S. and Canadian cities and villages enjoyed instrumental music of high quality without having to buy a ticket or belong to an organization in order to gain admittance." I can't think of a better way to kick off Labor Day weekend than enjoying this great concert with the Alfred Yun Quartet at the historic Douglass Community Center. This newly renovated space is definitely worth a visit. If you are out for First Friday, stop by the Douglass Center tonight.
Later this month we return to Old Ox Brewery, this time to spotlight some of our great jazz singers in Loudoun County. Matt Trimboli will lead the band to the heights of swing and good-time jazz vibes at this event. Get your tickets now.
Please note that we had to change the date of our General Member Meeting due to some conflicts. It will now be Wednesday, November 15th. Look for additional information in the October newsletter.
