June Newsletter
May was a big month for the Loudoun Jazz Society. Through your support, we made strides towards two of our biggest objectives: cultivating a local jazz audience and advancing jazz education.
Listening venues for jazz are rare in Loudoun County. Sure, many bars, restaurants, wineries, and breweries host jazz as background music, but where can you really listen to the music meaningfully? If you attended our 5th anniversary celebration at Old Ox Brewery, you discovered where. Thank you to everyone who came out to the concert. We had a great turnout and an appreciative audience response, and the owners invited us back. Stay tuned for more great jazz concerts at this new venue for jazz in the fall.
The following day, we also awarded our 2nd annual LJS Scholarship. Congratulations to Beau Baldassari, a regular participant in our monthly Loudoun Jazz Jam. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our scholarship to make that gift possible. You are helping pass on this tradition to the next generation.
ChefScape, our location for the monthly jam, has rebranded its food court to The Dell. Despite the name change, you can still enjoy the same great experience in the same location at our 3rd Sunday of the month Loudoun Jazz Jam in the Village at Leesburg. We hope to see you there or at one of the many jazz events around the county this month.
